| We did the Ferber method of sleep training with my son when he was 5 months old, and it worked very well at that age. | This book was one of the best books we got as expectant first time parents. A lot of the information in here you cannot find in the other books for just women. Half of the pregnancy is all about the father too (which women can sometimes forget in the mess of baby making) and this book can offer a lot of insight for women who are confused about their man's behavior. | While this book can serve as a helpful reference, as a new father, I've found myself repeatedly insulted by the authors' assumption that (1) the reader is the mother, and (2) that fathers only interact with their babies as "backup" providers when mothers are too weary. Phrases like "when baby was in your womb," "now you're a mother," etc. get tiring to a Dad who is putting forth a lot of effort to connect with his new child.

| The Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy is really well organized so you can find information quickly, the drawings are informative and accurate, and the tone is not dumbed down at all. I looked at reviews of pregnancy books before I bought this one and I'm really glad I did. This book was consistently rated the highest and I totally agree. I haven't felt once like we needed another resource besides this book (and my doctor) to answer our questions. |

| After 10 years of waiting for a little angel to join our family, the dream came true. This book was the solution for me. I have endometriosis problems, surgery and not able to ovulate on time this book gave me the tools that I needed to get pregnant.
So I put it to the test and like the author said: "if you don't get pregnant in 6 months, you need to contact a specialist". Needless to say I didn't make it to the 6 cause in 4 months I got pregnant. And now I am a proud mom of a beautiful 13 months old son. Read More: |

| This book had such potential to be really really great and fun to read. That is until the writer started adding all of her thoughtless, judgemental opinions. I didn't buy this book to feel judged and sneered at. I couldnt believe how judgemental she was on nursing, natural childbirth, unmarried mothers, etc. Maybe someone should tell this ex playboy bunny that her breasts are actually for nursing and not to be used to exploit herself only to write a mindless book once the flash bulbs are burnt out.
