| I bought my first edition in 1988 in Portland Oregon, USA. I had lived a very busy life sofar: extensive travelling, film shoots, difficult clients, too much drink, not enough sleep, 2 babies in one year 1991. But since I had the book I learned about the needs of my body and how to keep me fit with artificial(tablets) or natural(food) supplements.

| Dr. Andrew Weil is my health guru. I treat any information I get from him with the highest regard. I found the information he gave in this book regarding carotenes, vitamin E, vitamin C and selenium to be very helpful.
I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in improving their health. |

| People buying this book are being shammed into believing that this is an actual doctor giving advice. As it turns out these is NO SUCH THING as a PH.d from Pacific Western University. Go do a google search on Earl Mindell, the author and find out the truth. His degree is a phony, made up credential. He has even been investigated and on the News for this b/c he really isn't a doctor.

| One of the best nutrient/supplement guides in existence, albeit the title is too short. The Vitamin Book contains information on Vitamins, Minerals, Herbal Remedies, and everything related thereto. Especially helpful are the charts near the back, one of which shows the nutrients contained within everyday food, and not just fruits and vegetables.
