| I wasn't really sure about AMD to start with. I Bought a an athalon 64x2 4500+ processor and that was OK. A bit slow i must say however it ran both windows vista32bit and 64bit with no problem. I then thought of going back to intel when i stumbled upon the 6000+. It was a good buy, Cheaper than intel. The upgrade was no problem. One processor our the other in. | The Core2Quad Q6600 is actually available in two revisions - the older B3 stepping and the newer, more efficient G0 stepping. I'm hoping by now the one Amazon is selling is the newer G0. I've had my Q6600 a while now, so unfortunately I have the older B3 which uses more power and runs hotter, but I'm still more than happy with it and have overclocked it to 3ghz for a bit of a speed boost.

| i bought this as a temparary part to keep my computer running after my old 1 broke as i buit a new 1. ihad the computer on for 6 hours then played wow for about 8 hours then left it on overnight to download some updates. when i checked in the mornin the tempuratue of the power pack and the air was luke warm, if that. its pretty quiet and very reliable. it has a decent build quality the only problem is that the wires at the base arnt connected so you may need to tie some of them together once you have connected ...
