I actually really enjoyed this. I remember being terrified of the nimons when I first saw this. I think they'd be well worth bringing back for the new series as they have the potential to be quite frightening. Just imagine if they invaded earth. Lalla Ward is great in this and I thought she was a fantastic companion, one of the best. Tom Baker gives a slightly more casual performance and doesn't seem to take the situation seriously, which diminishes the story a bit. Corridors with changing walls, terrible acting ... Read More:

The idea of doing a sequel to Alfred Hitchcock's classic "Pyscho" is not a stupid idea. Doing a shot for shot remake of the original is a stupid idea. But the idea of Norman Bates coming home 22 years later having been declared cured and released from the mental institution where we assume he never even hurt a fly during all that time, is certainly an interesting idea. The only other character it would be interesting to see when they got back out and tried to pick up where they left off from would be Brigid O'Shaughnessy, ... Read More:

It seems to fall to me to rain on the parade of admiring reviews here. Yes, the film is beautifully filmed, especially at Lyme Regis, which I know quite well. The main street (and the Cobb, a kind of mole jutting out into the sea) was totally turned back in time and brilliantly. Yes, the acting is excellent, though I do not find Iron's lugubrious bourgeois almost-gentleman in Angst act too enthralling (as seen elsewhere, e.g. in Brideshead Revisited).

In the end, I just did not find this story of parallel 19th and 20th ... Read More:

Don't be conned by the lie that it includes "The Making of..." - which is the only reason I bought it as I already own an earlier DVD - but it contains no extras whatsoever! The cover also carries a circular sticker "Starring GERALD BUTLER from 300" - also rubbish, unless he was an uncredited extra. That said, the film is as haunting as when I first saw it aged 12, and infinitely superior to Cameron's "Titanic". it's also been transferred from an excellent print, though the sound is a little tinny.

My kids are little. This film is still BIG1
They loved it (and so did we). All the cast got into the acting in such a realistic way and as for our asian chum - he made the film!
classic, great, watchable for ever and a day.

VHS : Delia's How To Cook - Part Two
I have thoroughly enjoyed this set of video tapes. Delia presents everything in straight forward simple terms. It is not only for getting instructions on cooking but it's also good for entertainment.
