VHS : Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith [2005]
Stop Anakin I have the higher ground yes but earlier we were jumping around like computer animated demented fleas!!!!!!!

Not my only complaint he killed a load of kids because he loved someone? hmm yes that didn't work

Yoda being a pansy who couldn't kill crap dracula Count Dooku then he got his arse kicked and ran away.

Forgive me but no wonder he started with episode four if the quality of writing on his previous efforts was this bad.

Suffice ... Read More:

VHS : Breaking Glass [1980]
Lovely punkette chanteuse Hazel O'Connor plays a blinder in the somewhat autobiographic role of Kate, desperate to succeed, whilst maintaining her ethics, in the cut-throat music business.

Hazel's brilliant songs are enough to recommend this movie in its own right but, unlike some musicals, Breaking Glass is far more than just a vehicle to promote the artiste's work. The sense of unease stoked by the rise of neo-Nazi and anarchic groups in late 70's/early 80's urban England and the shadier side of ... Read More:

VHS : The Witches [1989]
I watch this film even when the kids aren't around, its a superb film from beginning to end if you're aged 4 or 94. Its a little frightening in places but not too bad for small children. The make-up is fantastic and Anjelica Huston plays the best witch on screen since the Wizard Of Oz....really powerful and evil. I won't spoil the ending but its clever funny and they all get their just desserts 'so to speak'. One of Rowan Atkinsons better parts, Jane Horrocks' cameo role is delightful. You get the feel that this ... Read More:

VHS : Mulan (Disney) [1998]
I honestly wasn't expecting much out of this. So I was very suprised when I loved it from start to finish! It has everything we have come to expect of a classic Disney film.. a strong hero/heroine, a hilarious sidekick character, a great soundtrack and a beautiful display of animation. Yes, it really is a great film, with a powerful story and some great characters. Highly recommended.

VHS : Mrs Doubtfire [1994]
After throwing a secret party for his son Chris's 12th birthday , Daniel Hillard (Robin Williams) lands himself in hot water with his wife Miranda (Sally Field) and she demands a divorce.

When Miranda wants to hire a housekeeper to look after the children, Daniel is outraged that Miranda would rather let a stranger look after the children than him so with a little help from his make-up artist brother, Daniel turns up to an interview as Mrs Doubtfire, a british nanny who has 15 years experience under her belt and ... VHS : Barbara Currie's Yoga
I have many of Barbara's videos, and this is up there with them. This features at least five moves not on the '7 secrets', 'the power of yoga' and 'the total body plan', so is worth adding to the collection for a variety in sequence and a general change in words and settings etc... i need change in my pratice and Barbara is a fine teacher, so its good to get as many as you can to vary the practice. This i think is slower than the aformentioned titles, and there are less repeats, however there are a lot of moves on this video and ... Read More:

VHS : Doctor Who - Arc Of Infinity [1983]
The Fifth Doctor is the best, by a country mile, and this is a fairly solid story from his era. The fact that Gallifrey is involved always conjurs comaparison with Deadly Assassin, but apart from THAT one, most Gallifey stories are terrible! Considering the rambling tin foil epic of Invasion of Time, this is an improvement. The story also features Omega, last seen in Three Doctors. A close inspection of Three Doctors reveals that, apart from the titular trio of Doctors, the rest was pretty poor with Omega a ranting, raving loony villain in a ... Read More:

VHS : One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest [1975]
The heading here was the tag line for the film. Jack Nicholson was the perfect actor to play this part. I don't think I can say anything that other reviewers haven't already said.

My advice is just watch it. Can't say much more than that.

VHS : At Play In The Fields Of The Lord
This movie has an unusually deep moral sense. It also has an unusual respect for each of its characters, including the Indians - and the jungle.

I finally read the book a few years ago and loved it. The movie somehow was able to convey a similar feeling despite not being able to delve into the thoughts of the characters in the way that the book did. These are two closely related but fully independent works of art. It's rare to find a book and its movie that complement each other so well. Great writing on the one hand, great acting on the ...
