VHS : The Thomas Crown Affair [1968]
A wonderful performance. I loved first watching it 20 years ago. McQueen's charisma is unbeatable. They should never have bothered with the Brosnan remake.

VHS : Lipstick On Your Collar [1993]
I agree with the last reviewer. This is a series which I made a point of watching. The faultless cast includes a young Ewan McGregor and the excellent Roy Hudd. It must be over 10 years since I've seen it and I'd like to watch it again. Shame there is no DVD release as yet.

VHS : Laurel And Hardy - Bonnie Scotland [1935]
"Bonnie Scotland" marks a turning point in Laurel & Hardy's career because from this point on the boys made only features. Traveling from America to Scotland to collect an inheritance, the boys discover all that is left of the estate is a snuff box. When their young friend William Janney is forced to join the Scottish Army, thereby preventing him from being able to marry the woman he loves (June Lang), the boys join up too. The trio are sent to India and the girl follows, so that her family can ... Read More:

VHS : Eddie Izzard - Live At The Ambassadors [1993]
This is the first stand up Izzard video/DVD in a series and the only one not available on DVD. Over the years the Eddie stand up releases have got more glitzy and showbizzy but not necessarily funnier. For me the first two - Live at the Ambassadors and Unrepeatable are the best two. They are spontaneous, fun and silly and come over as natural. Many of izzard's classic gag territories are on these first two releases, the shame is perhaps that in more recent releases the material hasnt moved on.

VHS : Gulliver's Travels [1996]
Because Gulliver is not only a story for little children, but at the same time a very ironical satire on social conditions, also adult viewers will find their pleasure. VHS : The Power of One [1992]
I have had this movie on Video for ages and have wanted the DVD, unfortunatly my only option was to buy the US version, which I have now done. This movie is one of my must sees, a very moving film, which all my friends hadnt seen before and have loved. As to the previous reviews if the book is even better, I will go and buy. This is a must for your DVD collection.

VHS : It's A Wonderful Life [1946]
Yes, it is a great life affirming movie with its heart firmly in the right place...BUT...personally I would have prefered not such a happy ending, or a very different kind of happy ending - I just feel that the miraculous turnaround of George's fortunes at the end, while rightly suggesting that all good deeds may be remembered, and returned in kind, missed a real chance to state that happiness didn't have to depend on material wealth at all - After all, when he was given his old life back, George's euphoric happiness was based soley upon his family ... John Travolta (Grease) stars as Tony Manero, a troubled 19 year old who's joy in life comes from the dance floor, and when Stephanie comes along, he finds a whole new world to be explored in dancing.

This 1977 music drama is one of the reasons Travolta is one of Hollywood's most established stars with a mesmerizing Oscar nominated performance as Tony Manero, the troubled paint store assistant whose only joy comes from dancing.
