VHS : The Rescuers Down Under (Disney) [1991]
This sequel to the rescuers was something special to disney, as this is the first sequal of feature animation to also become a feature. This is currently the only sequel to date to become a feature; this shows disney had great expectations and faith in this film.

This film has a similar story style to the original film, where a kid gets captured and its up to the rescue aid society to come to the rescue. The character cast in this film is amazing, and the animators do an incredible ... Read More:

VHS : Hercules [1997]
I just watched this the other day, for old times sake. It was brilliant - better than I remembered. Whoever said that you can outgrow disney couldn't have been more wrong. I laughed and laughed along with my friend, and even if we were laughing at new found jokes, it didn't matter. It's definately worth buying. But if you're older, watch it with a friend to make it more enjoyable.

The War Games is an epic story that sees the departure of the cosmic hobo,Patrick Troughton, the iconic 2nd Doctor, long serving companion Jamie, played by Frazer Hines and the lovely,Wendy Padbury, playing super intelligent Zoe Heriot.

VHS : Pride And Prejudice
The dialogue in this version feels far more faithful to the cleverness of Jane Austen. Her dialogue in the novel is a joy to read, drives character and narrative without missing a beat.

Elizabeth Garvie is a delight as Elizabeth. She looks, sounds and just is right. Jennifer Ehle seems a bit too mature at times and slightly hysterical at others even though I very much enjoy the 1995 version and do enjoy her performance most of the time.

Colin Firth while haughty and full of himself at the beginning ... Read More:

VHS : The Sound Of Music [1965]
If "West Side Story" was the best musical film of the sixties, then "The Sound of Music," adapted from the long-running Broadway musical play about Maria Von Trapp and her singing family, was certainly the most popular...

With a story that includes the right amount of family sentiment (the Von Trapp children never quarrel among themselves), religion (in the Hollywood tradition of serene, kind nuns), romance (actually two romances, one adult, one adolescent), and anti-Nazi feeling (Captain Von Trapp refuses to surrender to the ... VHS : Dennis [1993]
After my young son watched this film twice in one day I decided to watch with him, at the third showing!. `Dennis` is so typical of all children at that age, and I could see what my son found so amusing as he would tend to do the same things given half the chance. Having a bad guy also helped to keep the story going. For us adults though, Walter Matthau proves to be a real comic genius. Think of `Home Alone` but without Macaulay Culkin, thank goodness!.

VHS : Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Season 1 (Box Set) [1998]
Its wonderful to watch the original series where Buffy, Xander, Giles and Willow are introduced. The episodes on the DVD are stunningly sharp although there aren't that many special features.

My favourite episode is The Puppet Show. Sid is a great character and I can understand why they used him in the game. I also like the season finale.

Definitely worth buying!

VHS : High Spirits [1988]
Peter O'Toole is hysterical in this film, and quite easily, is the glue that holds it together (contrary to popular opinion). While this film suffers its share of problems, (such as a few holes in the plot, a little shoddy acting here and there) it makes me laugh as few other movies have. O'Toole's drunken wisdom and fights with his drunken, ghost-talking mother are great. Steve Guttenberg does fine, Daryl Hannah is okay. The Irish country side is lovelyand haunting (incidentally, the movie was filmed in a castle in Limerick,Ireland, where Frank McCourt, ... Read More:

VHS : Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Season 5 (Box Set 2) [1998]
Because "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" was a mid-season replacement on the WB there were only 12 episodes that first season instead of the full slate of 22. That meant when the show ended its fifth and final season on the WB the last episode would be number 100 for the series and since the fate of the show was uncertain, creator Joss Whedon had to make sure that if "Buffy" did not find a new home that there would be a big finish. That he certainly provided, but as I watched the second half of Season Five (Episodes 12-22) again, what struck me is how many of the ... Read More:

VHS : Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Season 4 (Box Set 2) [1998]
I have to say that this season is one of the best. "Beer Bad" was a bit of a disappointment as it came across as a bit dull. The rest of this season though was great. As we've come to expect, it has humour, drama, violence and gore. The puns are just as good as ever so I would be surprised if you don't want to watch this more than twice. If you look deeper into it, theres also life stories in the plots so it would make you think at the end of it. I would recommend that ANYONE buy this and all the other seasons - even those who buy it for the first time will soon be hooked ... Read More:
