VHS : Beauty And The Beast: The Enchanted Christmas (Disney)
Although the events of this film sit within the time-scale of the original, it is an interesting exploration of some of the untouched themes from its predecessor.

The Beast's dislike of Christmas is assumed by the audience to be simple 'Scrooge'-ism. As the story unfolds, we discover a deeper, more personal rationale for his aversion.

The addition of new characters - Forte (voiced by Tim Curry) and Fife (Paul Reubens - aka Pee-Wee Herman) - gives the story room to expand.

Ultimately, ... Read More:

VHS : Pocahontas (1995) (Disney)
With Pocahontas as an ancestor, I saw this movie in grade school and then followed it up with mountains of reading and research when it first came out. Disney has been well known for their distortion of stories and tale, but that generally doesn't bother me. Beauty and the Beast is my favourite movie of all time even though it differs drastically from the original tale. Disney went too far, however, when they decided to tackle American history and then twist it for their means. A few being, the aging of Pocahontas to ... Read More:

VHS : Napoleon [1994]
Napoleon is a cute labrador retriever who gets whisked off in an air balloon, thinking that the big dogs are calling for him...
I thought this film was fantastic and great for watching with the family. The animated voices are perfect for each of the characters, of which you meet many - from parrots to evil cats, lizards and mocking birds.

Peter Appleton is a Hollywood screenwriter at the time of the "reds under the bed" period when America came down heavily on Communisim within it's boundaries....As Peter (played by a straight Jim Carey brilliantly) is getting the finger pointed at him he goes out in the car on a rainy stormy night only to crash with a subsequent loss of memory and a new life in a different town with a mistaken identity...There Peter falls in love and re-incarnates an old cinema hall aptly named The Majestic and so the story is poised for a great encounter.....I ... VHS : The Accidental Tourist [1988]
When I first saw this film I really liked it, mainly because it wasn't a formula film and I couldn't begin to figure out what would happen next. The actors playing the central characters - William Hurt as Macon Leary, Kathleen Turner ... Read More:
