| Photoshop CS3 is wonderful and a real joy to use. We were not naive enough to feel it could run on an older less powerful machine. We purchased a new PC especially to run Photoshop CS3, with a lot of memory and running XP Professional, and have hardly anything else running on this machine so that other software does not clutter things up etc.

| I purchased AVG after having the 7 version with hassle free problems. Upon loading this I kept getting a dialogue box saying to register your number online to which I did and everytime I logged on this dialogue box kept coming up asking to register. It then end it wiped off part of my AVG and I have now resorted to taking off AVG and have wasted money as you cannot reinstall AVG once you have taken it off. I will not be buying this again. |

| I bought Guitar Pro 5 to supliment an old music writing programme that only wrote in standard notation - the aim being to convert then print music in TAB notation. However, I have discovered that Guitar Pro does more that that! | Beware this product if you have Windows Vista 64bit - IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE!!
The description on the Amazon page only states Windows Vista with SP1 but on trying to load it, it refuses to load. Nuance apologise and say they are looking into producing a 64bit version, but with no date. |

| I got Ultimate Upgrade as an offer of £30 when buying a laptop from Amazon.
Let's be clear I would not have paid the full price or anywhere near the full price, so my review is based on a purchase price of £30 only. I have replaced my Desktop XP operating system with Vista Ultimate as the laptop came with Vista Premium, good enough for me. | Have just loaded MS Office 2007 pack into my PC (XP system) and am very impressed with the new Word 2007 & Excel 2007 layouts. Unfortunately, I also tried to load the software into my wife's laptop (Vista operating system) but Vista doesn't like it - everytime she clicks on the Word 2007 icon the software starts installing itself all over again. Vista is really pretty awful - where's that nice button on Control Panel which says 'Install New Programs' - seems to have disappeared in Vista.

| In addition to the horror stories I've heard and read about Vista, I'd also read that the Home Basic edition is basically like XP and therefore not worth getting. Though Vista may have been dis-functional in 2007, the 2008 edition of Home Basic with Service Pack 1 is anything but XP! Installation was painless and despite my motherboard manufacturer not offering Vista compatible drivers, Windows Update made easy work of finding current VGA, Network & Audio drivers to run my Motherboard under XP. | A very good program, which I love using - but there are issues.
Minor fault Some of the lower ranked 'opponants' on the program make some very strange moves - for example, sacrificing the Queen for no reason at all - when they are winning. This turns the game around immediately. Major fault ...... The program sometimes calls a stalemate - (thus ending the game) when it is clearly not a stalemate. | My sister and I loved this series of games. We would spend a long time on it having fun and pushing our logic that bit further. We recently re-bought it (our original only worked on windows 95 I think) and spent ages re-living it all over again. Yes, perhaps recently we have not been on it that much, as we are now 18 and 19 years old and are at college and uni, but I have to recommend it to everyone.
