| Forget Dave Lister, Chris Martin is the ultimate egg chilli-chutney sandwich guy. He sings through his nose, his albums contain more filler than a B&Q superstore, and he looks like he'd be more at home with a back-pack than a microphone, yet put it all together and it works; Coldplay are one of the biggest rock bands in the world, and he's married to Princess Gwen. | Maybe its a colloquial thing: I'm holding my hands up straight away to admit, yes, I am a Glaswegian and thus perhaps more pre-disposed for enjoying Glasvegas than your typical home-counties type (although, perhaps it has a special exotic appeal to southerners that I can't quite appreciate). | I'm 46. My eldest daughter is almost 22. (not that THAT matters, but I'm perhaps a little older than the average Kings of Leon "fan"?) Because of the Times is one of those rare cd's you can put on, and listen to, (all the way through) when you need a cd you can put on, and listen to, all the way through, without having to fast forward through the rubbish bits. Because there aren't any. (rubbish bits) Brilliant, as I said. |

| Best way to descibe this album is,the first half is good the other half is pritty rubbish!.The first six of these songs are defenately worth a listen but the other four are just fillers but considering I got this CD for six quid Im pritty happy!. |

| I agree with the other reviewer this is a lovely collection and there are many wonderful songs that feature on it but Bette has done so much in her career and it could have gone a little further to truly fly the flag as THE BEST BETTE.
The biggest glaring oversight for me is the DANCE MIX of Bette's massive US club hit TO DESERVE YOU. Why did they have to overlook this gem as anyone who comes across it usually is dead impressed. In fact Bette had a series of American hits on the club scene that could ... Read More: |

| What a great album! By far and away their best, before they succumbed to Coldplay-type anthems on Seldom Seen Kid. Every track a winner, but "Very best" is well titled. Enjoy! Anyone that can get Stockport Supporters Club into the lyrics of a ballad is alright by me!! |

| I wasn't sure whether i would like this album as i bought it without even hearing a single song off it, the cover did it for me, i don't know why but it's just a beautiful image and i imagined that any music contained within would be just as good. The music fits that image well. Out of the whole album there is only one song i'm not too keen on but it's certainly not a bad song, the rest i loved on the first listen through and that's a very rare thing for me. | Like others, I saw the man on Jools Holland. I suppose the romantic in me loved the idea that this guy had experienced the lowest of the lows but had come through it all and was here playing his 3-string geetar live on the JH show. However, I liked what I heard and his enthusiasm for the blues was infectious. Okay, it's not as polished as the great blues musicians and he's not going to outdo Robert Cray for technical ability but just listen to the stories he tells and you'll be tapping your foot along. | Have to admit that I love all kinds of music. My recent purchases have been from Coldplay to Vampire Weekend but the musical highlight of the last number of months has been this debut album from The Script.
I could spend the next two days explaining why I rate it so much but I am not. Your probaly thinking he is Irish and they like to support their own but no. My advice to you is buy it, you will not be disappointed. Talent will always shine. |
