| I'm not from the US, my family hail from Kashmir and I was born in the UK, grew up listening to punk rock but WOW! The soundtrack literally drips with the era and place it hails from; every time I hear a snippet I swear I can feel the heat and smell the wheat - so amazing! |

| Like others, I saw the man on Jools Holland. I suppose the romantic in me loved the idea that this guy had experienced the lowest of the lows but had come through it all and was here playing his 3-string geetar live on the JH show. | I was going to mention Clapton's christening of the Les Paul, Marshall setup, but others have beaten me to it. I liken it's impact to what happened to harp playing when Little Walter and other's deciding to blow through the PA or an early guitar amp. They REDEFINED the sound of the instrument.

| This is a truly excellent album. THe acoustic sets are superb and show John Mayer off as the brilliant guitarist that he is. The trio sets and in deed some of the full band songs sound very much like Jimmie Vaughan. It is excellent, the songs are his best, from all previous album, but live. The small twiddly bits between/ leading into songs are very good and original. | Not only are the Agnostic Mountain Gospel Choir a brilliant live band, their new album is a swirl of blues rhythms,mashed-up with country and punk. The vocals are a bit Tom Waits-y, and that's meant in a good way. From crawling, clanking Son House numbers to whirling dervish roots workouts, if you like your music raw and exciting these are the boys for you. |

| I think that ZZ Top are a very good band and they remain one of my favorite bands of all-time. this is one great collection and they made great blues music in the 1970s and the 1980s. here are my comments about most of the songs. GIMME ALL YOUR LOVING this is a really great song and is my 2nd favorite song on the entire cd. SHARP DRESSED MAN this is pretty great too, but probably my 5th favorite. | My friend played me Room For Squares one day and after that I was truelly smitten with this artist!!
I cannot get enough of his bluesy notes and can honestly say there is not a single track on any of his albums that I do not like. His style suits all moods and his lyrics draws you in to your imagination and allows you to shut out the world and dream!! Brilliant as always. if you have'nt already heard this man play then do yourself a favour, buy this album and while you're at it, buy the rest of them too!! |
