| When I stopped dieting and decided that I'd eat foods I loved and really enjoy cooking again, this book provided lots of wonderful ideas and I enjoy following her recipes and adapating them. I love Nigella's attitude to food. Her dishes are full of flavour and colour - so welcome after years of low fat, low sugar, low everything in a vain attempt to get the perfect body - ironicaly I've lost loads of weight and kept it off, cooking myself and my family lovely meals from this book. | Not a great book.
Note the apostophe in the title - this is Gordon Ramsey branded, but he only wrote the intro. The recepies are by his trusty side-kick Sarge. The recepies themselves are all pretty simple, basic stuff - not what you would hope (or expect) from Gordon Ramsey. Save your money and spend it elsewhere! |

| I don't care to get into the controversy over whether or not this is part of this food movement or whether it sends the right message... all I wanted to know when I read it was whether Delia presented simple, day-to-day recipes that I could use when I was in a hurry and wanted something nice for the family.

| Great book to accompany a great series. Hugh isn't the cleanest looking cook around but he's certainly one of the most enthusiastic. My favourite scenes from the series were where he was cooking 'spoots' for the two clam divers. A hot pan, flash fried spoots, a sprinkling of paprika and they were won over! I just wanted to wash Hugh's hair and give him a big pat on the head. |

| Having read Hell's Kitchen I now feel that I understand Gordon Ramsay's personality a little better. His fanatical pursuit of perfection seems to be as a result of his difficult childhood. However I wonder if his constant use of the f word is entirely necessary as all it really shows is lack of vocabulary. This makes me feel that maybe nowadays he continues to use it for effect in print and on the small screen.

| This book is perhaps (I do not agree) beautiful, but it's place is not on a coffee table. It is NOT an art book.
I do love to read food literature in the kitchen or in bed, this one will not work there. I am disappointed at the format, huge, oversized and...pompous, so are the photos, most of them totally uninteresting. It should be more down to earth if it is meant for reading. Resize if considering reprint? |
