This is a film designed to entertain, the characters are 2 dimensional and unsympathetic, don't interact well and serve only to move the story from one scene to another. That said, it is enjoyable enough and didn't make me want to gouge my eyes out. If you want an unplanned pregnancy flick with depth and heart buy Juno. If you just want to laugh, buy this.

The Spiderwick Chronicles is one of those films that ticks all the right boxes for a traditional family adventure movie. It tells the story of a family who relocate to a spooky mansion in the middle of nowhere (as you do), then start experiencing very strange goings on both within the house and outside it. Things start to go weird when one of the sons finds an old book written by their great Uncle, who mysteriously disappeared many years ago, and is the former owner of the mansion. The book documents the ... Read More:

Firstly, i didn't expect much when this film started and much to my suprise my expectations grew worse as the film continued.

There are jokes that will make you laugh, but only if you have the intelligence lower than a 5 year old with severe learning difficulties. Now don't get me wrong, i have enjoyed previous films made by the same people, it's just that everything about the film is lack-lustre, from the performances to the script.

It seems that the writers just tried to make a film that ... Read More:

I had really high hopes for this movie, being a huge fan of Steve Carell in the Office. Sadly though it doesnt deliver. Apart from a few slapstick scenes its not funny. There are loads of annoying things about it, The most being that Steves co-workers rip on him for cycling to work!!!! That is so American, avoid, avoid, avoid!!!

Released in time for the recent Olympic games driven focus on China,or is this too cynical an interpretation? The cartoon has a storyline we have seen lots and lots of times before-"hopeless looser who dreams of glory, gets his big chance and after some difficulty reveals true ability".How many times can this theme be recycled, before we say STOP-enough.So,in this cartoon, instead of a boxer;dancer;singer;karate kid;ogre;surfing penguin or whatever,we have a panda bear and other assorted animals in the usual roles. The story is entirely linear, predictable, with ... As Usual Hollywood hits on a formula then milks it dry. The original shrek remains funny whenever I watch it now, it was fresh and original and utilised Murphys and Myers skills well.
The sequel was ok, and had its moments. But it lacked the heart of the original. The third in this frachise is suprisingly unfunny and Murphys donkey is criminally underplayed. There are just too many 'stars' involved now, and as a result dilutes what made the original work so well.
Stop now, no more please

Quite simply one of the worst movies I have ever seen - definitely in my top 10 worst of all time. Very few amusing parts - the main character is so irritating that he actually does provide the most laughs - but only when he is being run over AGAIN. It is almost impossible to have any empathy with any of the main characters as people simply do not behave like that (the initial porn site discussion with his best mate being a case in point) in the real world and those that do are the sort of irritating losers who you try to avoid, not spend 1.5 hours of your life ... I absolutely love this film. Awhile back i borrowed this film of my sister because it looked interesting and the cover was cool, and when i watched i was hooked. The great thing about this movie is that it makes you think alot very clever, the acting is brilliant, the storyline is just bloody incredible. Everytime i watch this film it gets better and i always have to watch all the way through it's so amazing. This is hard to put in the genre but who cares. The ending really makes you think, and the song Mad World by Gary Jules is just perfect for this film. The whole ... Read More:

A sweet film with a good message; Horton Hears A Who features a not-over-the top Jim Carry as the voice of Horton, savior of all the Whos in Who-Ville. The film showcases the need to make your voice heard, even if what you're saying happens to fly in the face of conventional wisdom. A lesson everyone (young and old) should take to heart. There are plenty of jokes for Mom & Dad (a particularly funny JKF reference comes to mind) and lots of giggles for kiddos. My seven-year-old was thoroughly entertained throughout, even cheering and chanting "We are here!" at the pivotal ... Read More:
