Obviously designed for the younger generation, Step Up 2: The Streets is a well choreographed and fast paced movie that has less of the drama of the first, but a lot more of the message, 'It's not what you have, it's what you make of what you have'.

The storyline was lacking a lot after the first, but I found the dancing and the rawness of this film a lot better than the first.
It seems a lot less polished than the first also (Perhaps due to style of dance or new directing), but ... Read More:

I was really looking forward to this dvd was bought for me as a birthday gift. I sat down and prepared to watch it, only to horrified to have to!! listen to Gwenyth Paltro whine about Aids in africa, you can't skip it or fast forward you have to watch every time you put in the dvd.
I am outraged I will now never give money to whatever organisation it was on principle and dvd went it the bin

Good film though

I usually find that chick flicks disappoint and are not as funny as they promise. Probably because the funniest parts of the film are usually showed in the trailers. However with Shes the man I was pleasantly surprised! Amanda Bynes does a really good job and is full of laughs and is oddly believable as a boy. I would definitely rate this film and it is definitely a film that I can watch over and over again. Much better than Mean girls.

This film has a suprising amount of A-list actors in it and deserves more recognition I think. Robert DeNiro plays his role as Father Bobby exceptionally well and Brad Pitt and Kevin Bacon also provide good performances. Essentially great injustices are done and finally righted with sweet revenge, the interplay of all the characters as this story of revenge unfolds is at least partly what makes it such a good movie.

I watched this without blinking...an amazing movie...most of us wouldnt have had the guts to investigate something like this. We just assume that people in power must be moral and right. This film motivated me to read about Richard Nixon's presidency (and his advisors like Kissinger) - these men should never have been allowed to such powerful positions because frankly (read Robert Dallek's book) they were psychotic. Sad and scary. Thanks for bringing this alive in this movie. Excellent.

DVD : Rain Man [1989]
Here again we see Satans felcher Tom Cruise playing a handicapped character looking after unorthodox genius Dustin Hoffman. Hoffman steals the show with his approach to his character's quirky nature, whereas Cruise just fluffs it all up with weak and insensitive portrayal of a shallow and vacous differently special person. Again, what with the subject matter of the film, it is unlikely that Cruise's character will have a death scene owing to the schmaltz factor inherent with these kind of films. Still, if it makes money. Notice the size ... Read More:

Overwrought, over intense, over squalid psychological drama about two convicts coming to terms with their sentence on a harsh island penal colony. Pretentious, a bit pointless, and not at all where cinema should be directing its energy. It comes from a little 3 or 4 year period where films of this type became fashionable with directors, though god knows why.

This film is an insult to the British. A terrible performance by Dustin Hoffman, one of Hollywood's "got lucky" boys. If he wants to ham it up, the local Pantomime would be more appropriate. I can't believe Speilberg did this. A complete waste of money and Bob Hoskins. A lifelong fan of Julia Roberts, I can't see any point in casting her. Surely Roberts and Hoskins must cringe at showings of this crass presentation. As for Dustin Hoffman, bring back Mrs. Robinson, he needs some more luck.

Ok before i start my review of this movie/DVD please note that the comments other people have made about the aspect ration being messed up are wrong! I found no problem what so ever with this disc and there was certainly no "oogie Nights" at the start!
Now onto the movie....
This film rightly deserves to be called a classic. Why? Becuase it's unique. There have been a few imitations (Wonderland is one) but non have ever come close to the sheer power and honesty of this movie. Many people see the porn industy as glamour and non stop partying. But as this ... Read More:
