| This film is boring and badly acted especially by Miss Knighty. The story not clear and missing vital information from the book well not so much missing but not making it clear.
I looked forward to taking my wife to this and wished I had not it was truly truly bad. She like myself had read the book at some time but seriously felt let down. Would not recommend at all, stay at home with your feet up and watch paint drying its more fun honest! |

| This modern attempt at adapting this classic book into film is not a good one. When compared to other classic book-to-film adaptations of classic fanatasy (ie. Lord of the Rings and Stardust) this falls well short of standard set by previous fantasy movies. In contrast, Narnia appears cheap with inferior acting, poor casting, bad direction, cheap looking sets and generally poorly produced.

| So the movie doesn't have much depth, and the beginning is very much like Fight Club, but what about the action. Put it this way, the Movie on it's own is just average, but the action is the most exhilarating i have seen since The Matrix. No Joke, it's that good. Remember when Keanu Reeves Dodged the bullets, that's how you'll feel when you see the action. The director has taken bullet time and added a new twist to it.

| For some time (almost 2 years) I have known about, and waited patiently for this Reese Witherspoon production; wondering if it ever would come to fruition on DVD in the U.K. On 12th August, I found it in a local Super-Market, and bought my copy there and then.

| This was much better than I thought it would be having read that the story didn't hold together and wasn't based on any real fact. If it was intended as a love story then it's ok. Are biographical films ever based truly on reality? Julie Walters is excellent as Jane's mother and thanks to another reviewer for mentioning where I'd seen Anne Hathaway before.
I'm not keen on Jane Austen's novels (forced to read them at school), except perhaps, "Northanger Abbey", for which the recent TV adaptation was excellent. "Becoming ... Read More: |

| Having read the book, I wondered how this would translate to film. I've got to say that it far surpassed my expectations. This film is a showcase for the HDDVD format, it looks fabulous on a large HD TV. From the opening scenes in the house and gardens to the chaos of the wartime beach, it never fails to impress. I'm shocked at some of the reviews; I found it gripping from beginning to end, and visually stunning. My copy cost about a fiver: a bargain if there ever was one. |

| Where did they get a film like this from. It is truly magic. Forget James McAvoy as being the stand out. Steven Robertson gives a performance that in my opinion deserves a BAFTA. I have never seen this actor before. I was rivited by his performacne. Top film. |
