| Everytime I read this I think it's ME they're talking about and it's my man they're referring to! Absolutely fantastic book, it not only helped me understand myself but also my partner. I'm yet to pursuade him to read it. But everytime I want to get angry for not talking about whatever is bothering him - I think about what was said in the book and I wait for him to come back to me, after his "pulling away" period. | This is an absolutely excellent book. We split up when my son was one year old and I went through divorce spanning the next year or more . I wish I'd had the book then and we wouldn't have got into the mess we did over visitation as this book gives clear and specific advice on what is normal and fair for that. I agreed to a scheme that was totally suited to my ex's life - he lived an hour away out of town - and didn't fit the child's needs at all. My son's behaviour got worse and worse until i read this ... Read More: |

| This was a really insightful book for both dominants and submissives. It was extremely thorough in terms of safety and consent without being overly tedious on such issues. There is a chapter called "How to make a scene sing" which is written with an air of playfulness and mischief. This certainly dispels the common prejudices about players on the scene, showing that a relationship with a BDSM flavour can be extremely loving (as the title suggests!) and based on respect and trust just like its vanilla counterparts. ... | This book is a wonderful resource for any pregnant woman. Friendly and welcoming in it's tone it plants the seeds of thought for holistic care without pushing those philosophies on to the reader. The first half of the book is filled with wonderful birth stories writen by women, so if you are not too 'into' the holistic side, the book is worth getting just for these possitive tales. The second half is Ina May's take on pregnancy and birth -fascinating.

| This book only gets two stars from me because it is very short (I read it in around 10 minutes) and the advice given is mostly common sense, so in that sense you probably don't need to read it at all. There is little or no detail for most topics discussed.
On the plus side, the advice given is generally good and written in a no-nonsense fashion, so if you are a man planning to get married and you really don't have a clue what to do then it's a reasonable starting point. The book is written in a light-hearted tone and is ... Read More: |
