| They say great things come in small packages and this is no exception. It doesn't matter how many books about wedding readings we read we never quite found a verse that said what we wanted to say exactly. If you are having a religous ceremony there is the pick of the best but also some very good verses that compliment a religious service and can be understood by all. The example speeches are cringe-makingly awful, and the example jokes range from outrageously inappropiate to bafflingly unfunny, through just plain corny. | Strauss had written 1/2 of a fascinating account of the subculture of pickup artists, and how he transformed himself into one of the best (or so he says...). Whether it's strictly true or not, the story is entertaining and funny and odd, but halfway through this book really goes downhill.

A book to own because it is so beautiful. It has great pictures and for each topic some hints and tips. It is well made and it is like an art book. You can just look through it and enjoy the pictures. You can take more time and read the text - it has a personal touch of Vera Wang (references to weddings she has been / seen, things she pays attention to when making dresses etc. but it is not a promotion of Vera Wang products) and gives you practical tips of what you should not forget ... | This book makes sense and is written in clear and understandable style. It certainly helps to understand what we are up against in terms of other people's behaviour as well as our own.
It is really good to re read when things get tough to remind yourself about what to do. |

| This book only gets two stars from me because it is very short (I read it in around 10 minutes) and the advice given is mostly common sense, so in that sense you probably don't need to read it at all. There is little or no detail for most topics discussed.
On the plus side, the advice given is generally good and written in a no-nonsense fashion, so if you are a man planning to get married and you really don't have a clue what to do then it's a reasonable starting point. The book is written in a light-hearted tone and is ... Read More: |

| This book was recommended to me as something to read before I gave birth. I am so glad I did because it made me understand in a light and humerous way why I reacted completely differently to things to do with the baby, from the way my partner did. If I hadn't have read this book I may have gladly walked out on my husband on a few occasions but thankfully this book made me realise he wasn't an uncaring monster just he was programmed differently to me. | I'm afraid the contents of this book are not much use to anyone who already has a good idea of what they have to do. It's a bit thin on actually helping you to do it. If you need to be told that certain topics should be avoided, then this may be helpful. But if you're looking for inspiration and possibly some useful lines to borrow - then look elsewhere. |
