| I was told about this book by a collegue. I started reading it thinking I would read the book but never stop. As I read it I found myself having less and less desire to smoke.
The book was very repetative and at times it would have been easy to stop reading. I continued to the end of the book and have now been a non smoker for over a year. In that time I have had cravings but but most of the time I am just thankful that i don't smoke anymore. |

| This book is a must have for all medical students entering their clinical years. Read it early! I only discovered the gems contained within this book when my OSCE's were approaching as it had been collecting dust on the shelf and I was kicking myself that I hadn't read it earlier. Plenty of pictures and illustrations to clarify the procedures. |

This book is easy to read and easy to understand, it will teach you everything you will need to know and has clear and easy to flow photos of how to treat different injuries that your client might have. The number of main exercises in the book, you could just about count on a single hand but the attention to detail is excellent, the teaching points are clear and explicit with clear pictures demonstrating how to perform and how not to perform while also giving advice as to how to strengthen weak points in your technique. | I was a bit disappointed as I only bought the second edition in 2005, but when I went out and updated it, there was in fact not that much change at all to the vast majority of the text! Sure, the new 2005 CPR guidelines are there (I guess this and the name change dropping `Accident' were the reasons to `rush out' a new edition so quickly), but most of the text is the same. And I'm still tired of straining to read it! |

| I got this book as a last resort after experiencing numbness and pins and needles in my hands for several months for which conventional Consultants could find no cause (I was scared.) I'm now a consultant and things haven't changed much (other than for the worse) Read it if you want to get a true perspective as opposed to the nonsense in Holby City, Casualty etc Whilst you're at it take a look at the Cardiac Arrest series from the 90's now on DVD -- probaly the best hospital TV series ever made |

| As a med student..i found that this book covered basically anything i have needed to know in a simple..easy to understand fashion.
