| The book gives useful guidelines for people iniciating work with young children (for example, working on early childhood intervention). It focuses important steps of development, but it's not analytical enough for people who want to study child development deeper.
Still... it's well organised, adequate for different professionals, and a good starting point. |

| I found this book well written and easy to use. The chapters follow a logical 'building block' order without becoming boring or tedious and I find the tasks an excellent way to help me retain the knowledge covered. This is one of three books I am using as part of my studies for Anatomy and Physiology, the others being the Ross and Wilson book and the Tortora book. | I have just finished by 1st year BSc Human biology and found this book very useful.... Great for general physiology themes as well as sports physiology. I even used it for information on a bomb calorimetry report!
Really useful information at the end of each chapter with detailed referencing and CD rom guide with reference lists you can print.... therefore great for searching original sources. I cannot imagine you would be dissapointed with this purchase. It's an investment! |

| This book, on the surface, appears to be very good. However, as a 3rd year student midwife and currently studying for my obstetric emergencies VIVA, I have noticed that there a errors in drug dosages e.g. page 433 which is referring to eclampsia, it states that the woman should be given a loading dose of magnesium sulphate of 4mg IV. This is a blatant error as it should be 4g. Imagine my horror to think that this book went to press with errors of this magnitude that could have an adverse effect on maternal otcomes. ...
