| I have bought a number of these types of books, read them and not given them to my daughter as they seemed "wrong". This one is the one I gave to her and it's pitched perfectly. My daughter is nearly 10. There was enough information but not too much. It is based around periods, hormones, spots and body changes. | I bought this book because my 1 and 3 year olds were killing each other daily, and I was at my wits' end. I found this book really helpful, and it has definitely improved things, and helped me understand what's going on. Of course a lot of it relates to older siblings, but I found that interesting too, and I'm sure it is a book I will return to for help over the years. If your kids' fighting is getting you down, buy this book! |

| I am currently supporting a 14 year old boy at the school i teach at. He's in my tutor/form group and he's got a bad reputation. But recently he asked me for help in dealing ith his anger. | I bought and read this after seeing it mentioned on an NCT website and reading the recommendations here. It was the best thing I did in preparing for giving birth. It gave me confidence to look forward to labour without any fear. I had a very quick and straightforward delivery. The folder is beautifully presented with loads of sheets for notes and checklists, to help you get your ideas together and keep yourself organised. | This book has some genuine and valuable core scientific insights, so I recommend it for that reason. Beyond this I feel that there is a significant amount of creative extrapolation couched in scientific terms - interesting and logical, but possibly lacking in rigorous scientific evidence.
I feel that she does parents and herself a gross disservice by almost completely dismissing breastfeeding from her discussions of the physical and psychological development of both infant and child. |

| Most of the pictures shown in this book remind me of my childhood! I was completely unaware of Asperger Syndrome in those days, though. Especially, the one on p.18, which seems to indicate the similar experiences in my 1st and 2nd elementary school days.
