This book has provided me with a clarity that I never thought possible for such a complex disorder as BPD. Written sensitively, thoroughly and with the genuine care of a therapist who has clearly seen and experienced the full extent of what people with this condition truly face. A genuine read that will I'm sure inform, reassure and guide you - well I hope it will for you - it certainly did for me...

Compared to other texts on the same subject (Manuel Castells; Robert Reich; Jeremy Rifkin) I found this text to be a rather 'trashy' light-weight ego-centric account of the increased stratification of work, employment and society. It is airport-lounge chic-lit, to Castell's magnus opus.

Well, this book is very nice for beginners but also advanced and intermediate practitioners; those who have read 'The Power of Now' may feel a little bored by the first four chapters but stick with it and you really get to some juicy stuff. Things on identification, reification, hate, the world of time, and so forth.

Well worth a read.

An excellent book on the temperament of introverts. It helped me so much in understanding and accepting my nature: anyone constantly feeling tired in a party or when chatting with a group of people should read this book to understand that you're as normal as anyone, just that your energy level is used up quickly in high-stimulated environment. Parents ought to read this to understand their introverts children so as not to force them to be who they are not.

After reading this book, I recommend "Dare To Connect" ... Read More:

A classic book that has been hugely influential since its first release. As the author states you may not be able to use the ideas on your own to make large changes and I believe most would do well to work with a qualified professional as well. That is not to say you should not get it! I would certainly suggest getting it to learn about the ideas. It gives a very clear direction out of destructive thinking.

As a graduate of animal management and now a student of animal behaviour, this is a book that I could certainly recommend.

"The Domestic Dog, its evolution, behaviour and interactions with people" edited by the great James Serpell is certainly one reference book you should not be without.

After the Introduction, the book is divided into 3 parts: Domestication and Evolution, Behaviour and Behaviour Problems and Human-dog interaction.

Each of these parts has chapters which are each written by different ... Read More:

A really good book, with user-friendly chapters making it ideal for use in academic research. However, once I started to read it I couldn't put it down it makes a fascinating read, and helped me to understand children's minds.

Once in a while it's a joy to come across an inspiring book which deserves to be consulted time and time again. Lesley Skipper's brilliantly researched and observed "Inside Your Horse's Mind" had that effect on me, as did Lucy Rees' "The Horse's Mind". For me, this beautifully written book, by the eminent animal biologist Marc Bekoff, will be sharing pride of place on my bookshelf.

This is a study which anyone who has an interest in animal behaviour will delight in. Behaviours such as loneliness and weaving amongst elephants, ... Read More:

Okay first off I must congratluate the Authors and those that helped them with building this archive of short cuts that the mind takes to create a imige of the world.

Though there are a few things, if you arnt fammiler with Psychology or the layout of the brain, your likly to become confused, but its quite possible to get your head round it, all in all, exceeltent work. but not desighed for the person who is just starting out on Psychology/psychiartry studys.
