The description of women resembles more the overwrought females of an Ibsen play than the vast majority of women today. Even the depiction of men was a gross distortion for its day, let alone now. | Sharaf was a pupil/patient of Reichs and has first hand knowledge of the subject. He writes with sympathy but always uses a perceptive and critical intelligence. If even one tenth of Reichs ideas are correct he is essential to our future - this is one of the best two books on Reichs life ...(the other is David Boadella`s). Having come around to the idea that gender is a playground, I guess I was looking for some kind of map pointing out the available seesaws and climbing frames and warning of the dangerous swings and roundabouts. | I liked this book. I found it to be very affirming of my experience. It offers a balanced approach to exploring your sexual identity. I am married and have struggled with my attractions to men.
