The author is informative, focussed and determined to provide a focus on prioritising women; helping them recognise abuse and protect themselves from harm. | An Americanised approach to a subject few people talk about, though the (professionally unqualified) author Evans is in a win/win situation - any help for abused people is a lifeline even if it's badly presented.

| I can't recommend this enough. Packed with clearly presented information, easy to read, clear exercises, plus she herself was abusive and worked through it, so is completely speaking from a place of real informed balance and empathy. |

| I found this to be an excellent source of information and guidance helping me to make sense of and validate my feelings. Together with some of the other books I have read on this subject such as Toxic Parents, which I also highly recommend, these books have opened up a whole new perspective in my life. |

| Undoubtedly yes.! I am not sure this book needs yet another review but here goes anyway.
Like many other women in this situation - being married to a PA man - I fervently wish I had had this book 25 years ago! Even today I note that there is only Scott Wetzler's book out there in this specific area, or does anyone else know otherwise? I do have some criticsm of the form Scott Wetzler has decided upon in his book, namely that most irritating of devices - giving the reader case history notes of clients he has treated. ... | I found this book very comforting, in that it helped me realise I am not alone in dealing with this stuff. This book shows that there are varying degrees of abuse, and what may be classed as 'minor' can still have a major impact on the victim.
Well written, very moving. Worth buying! |
