| Have had every edition and I still carry a copy in my bag. Anyone doing acute takes who thinks they don't need to reflect on some aspects of some cases will come to grief. I am reassured when I see junior docs carrying a well worn copy. |

| I discovered this book after reading a book on how the 'Milton Model' can be used in NLP. Although perhaps primarily aimed at therapists, I found the stories very readable and along with the commentaries, perfect examples of the power of language. It seems to me that Milton Erikson had a phenomenal insight into human behaviour and much can be learned from these, 'teaching tales.' |

| This book is the best book to sharpen your calculation skills. Very easy to understand calculations with given examples and formulas. Practicing the exercises in different sections that include a review of basic calculations, dosage of oral medications, drug dosage for injection, intravenous infusion, paediatric dosages and summary exercises with the answers. I recommend this book for all who are involved in drug calculations.It is execellent+++++. |

| The change to colour is a vast improvement but it has some pretty big failings. The information is relatively comprehensive but is spread out over several chapters and sub chapters. This means that you have to hunt for the rest of the information across several sub chapters and sections that would naturally be grouped together. Makes it great fun for lecturers as you literally do have to read every single sentence, and many chapters, to make sure you don't miss anything. | The chapters are repetitive. The book gives you an idea of how to assess without going into specific details about why we do what we do and what to do with our findings. |

| I was a bit disappointed as I only bought the second edition in 2005, but when I went out and updated it, there was in fact not that much change at all to the vast majority of the text! Sure, the new 2005 CPR guidelines are there (I guess this and the name change dropping `Accident' were the reasons to `rush out' a new edition so quickly), but most of the text is the same. And I'm still tired of straining to read it! |

I've used the book for every assignment in my training and am sure I will continue to dip into the book when qualified. Its clearly written and easy to understand. Broken down into short sections with good headings. Useful diagrams. There's 7 sections in the book and each section is split into different chapters, each written by a different author.
