| Very, very happy with this book. Spent ages looking at all the different titles then took a chance by ordering this one. Made the right decision. Format is fresh, easy to glance through or read in more detail depending on how much time you have. Plenty of names to choose from, modern, traditional, trendy, a few foreign names but not too many. | I got this book for my daughter and it made her aware but comfortable about the facts of life. She felt open about talking about what she read and was ready to discuss topics mentioned in the book. Very child friendly without being frightening. |

| This book had a good title but was weak on the inside - it could have been fun, cute, more informative &/or exciting but was not, I & my 2 year old son thought the same.
It was amarican ('diapers' & 'Mom')in case English was required. |

The story begins in late 1899 New York and California as it tells the tale of Elizabeth and Diane Holland (upper crust family in financial difficulty), Penelope Hayes (new wealth) and Lina Broud (Elizabeth's former maid) who is trying to set herself up as a "lady". | Olly, her brother Matt & Hero are the star cast of this story which neatly & sensitively draws childrens attention to the war victims of Africa & the on-going problem of landmines. Well written & easy to read. Provides a good platform for developing readers to expand from. 3 stars probably not enough ... just not enough options to choose. Enjoy reading. |

| The Cat Mummy was written by Jacqueline Wilson (one of my favourite authors) and was published in 2001/ 2002 in two different editions - the Corgi Yearling edition and the Doubleday edition. It was illustrated beautifully by Nick Sharratt (who draws a lot for many different authors) and it was illustrated very exquisitely. This book is great for children who are over the age of 7 or 8 up to the age of 15 or 16 because adults are far too boring to read such a good and exciting book like this one.
