| This is not a bad book, it is very comprehensive and well written, so it is fun to read and contains useful information. It seems intended to be read through more than as a reference book.
However, in my opinion it is a bit too much. The information overloads the reader and then it is difficcult to remember the key things a new mom has to have in mind.It would suit you if you have a control freak side and want to know absolutelly everything about -1 yr old babies. | This is a book to turn to for help on every aspect of parenting small children. It's well laid out, easy to find specific information, and concise without being dry. It covers everything from developmental stages, to healthy eating (including recipe ideas), childhood diseases, immunisation and first aid, helping your child develop ethics and good values. It's a hefty tome, reflecting a vast amount of knowledge gathered by the two authors over many years, and it was my crutch!

| I was given this book by a friend and can honestly say I so pleased that they gave it to me. You can skip sections and come back to areas that you are unsure of. It has questions by people in the same situation and answers them clearly.

| This seems to be the number one "go to" pregnancy book every devised and I have to say, I was blown away with all the great info it contained. It goes month by month and really has tons of great, useful (I thought) advice. It's almost like a standard, or something. I also liked and would recommend another pregnancy book which was a bit lighter than this one, called "You Know You're Pregnant When..."

| These 2 books are by far the best ones I have read. Someone gave me them as a present and I have since bought them for all my friends who have had children. They answer all the questions you can possibly think of - and believe me, I had a lot! Very down-to-earth, solid, practical advice and a month by month analysis of what to expect.
If you are thinking of buying a pregnancy/baby book this gift set would be my first choice. |

| The drawback for this book is it clearly explains almost every possible complication. With the monthly format it is a lot to read at a time. The list of complications and possible symptoms each moth can be very daunting. Yet with all of that the book is also a great resource. It gives you many things to consider that you may never have thought of. It is much more comprehensive than many other pregnancy books.
