This book is not bad, but it's not very good either. The book is detailed and gives a good description of what social anxiety and shyness is and how it develops and continues, but it is missing something. In some parts the book is painfully dry. I think I'll need to see a professional to help me overcome my problems.

I picked up this book as I have a personal interest in the area and also because it tentatively relates to my line of work (sales).

It does "what it says on the tin"! It is readable, succinct and easily understood, with graphics, tables and photos to illustrate or emphasise key points.

Anxiety can be overwhelming and feels like a whirlpool but here the causes are broken down to make it easier to see what happens when anxiety strikes. I have learnt how to recognize that introspection happens when I get anxious, and it becomes a continual cycle. Looking forward to part 2 and 3.
