Rating: - WARNING - These burn your hair OFF!
I bought these straighteners as a Christmas present and on trying them out myself, i was horrified as they burned my hair off on my fringe. I use another make of hair straighteners without any problems at all and was shocked that something which wasnt placed on the highest heat setting could actually burn your hair off in sections. Fortunately i stopped using them before i had done more damage. I would not advise anyone to buy these straighteners and i am returning them to the manufacturer!

Ive had this product for over a few months now.

I normally have straight/wavy hair and probably only straightened my hair a few times (in my whole life) with my friend's GHDs before i got this one. It works instantly, i only have to put it through my hair once and it does the job! my friend now comes round to use mines sometime!

My sister on the other hand, has really thick and curly hair, and with the 230 temp. setting it worked instantly too! her hair's really long too, and she loved the end result.

It can be used as cordless or with cord (which i prefer), but it does heat up within seconds when used in the cordless form. It has nice non-insulation material at the top, so hands never get hot etc.

There is no "smell" or "singe of colour" at all! i think if some people use it excessively, or just keep it on the hair for a long time, i guess that would cause these unfortunate events.

All in all, a fantastic product and amaaazing value for money!!!

I've had these straighteners for 2 years now and they are still working perfectly. I still can't believe they cost so little and do such a great job. My friends and relations who bought GHDs are all kicking themselves, as my cheapie Babyliss ones are just as effective, with a cordless option to boot. With reference to the poor review about daughter's singed hair - anything this hot will certainly do harm if used excessively or at full heat on fine hair. I have thick hair, quite coarse at the back and do sometimes notice a singed smell, which washes out. If I didn't use them at the maximum temperature, then I wouldn't achieve straight hair. Ideal for those with mid to long, thick, coarse hair and an absolute steal!!

Rating: - Bablyliss Cordless Staightners
One word for these - FANTASTIC - after my GHD's breaking down with that common wiring fault I was in a panic as I cant cope without any straightners - after reading the reviews I purchased these babyliss ones and the next day delivery. At 8am that next day the straightners were infront of me. They are fantastic to use and get really hot and if I am being completely honest they do a better job on my hair than the GDH's, my hair is completely straight and for less than half the price of GHD's, they are well worth the money and recommend anyone to buy them - I have used them with and without the wire and although the plates are wider they are still easy to use. BUY THEM!!!

Rating: - Brilliant value for money - would highly recommend
I looked through the reviews before buying these and was a little unsure due to the few negative reviews. But I was pleasantly suprised with them. They are brilliant considering the price they are. I have had numerous compliments about my hair since I used them, people saying it tooks like I've just been to the hairdressers etc and I find them really good. Easy to use, and the function of leaving them in the stand to warm up and having them cordless I also think is a big plus.
