Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - re-stored enthusiasm
This book has restored new hope in the weight reduction journey of my life, facts concerning Wheat and Dairy issues are explained in understandable language and the method of explanation is at a pace that allows you to digest the facts . It is packed full of energy and each page offers promise of the next. My advice is to read it over 2 days or so, buy a note book and write . This is the first time I haven't read a book in one sitting and raced to get to the end almost speed reading in the hope that you have found the gem of a diet awaiting. This book makes you pace the read because it's interesting , it's hopeful, it's truthful and it's worth every penny I am only 5 days into the programme but my spirits are lifted. Good luck to you and good luck to Marisa Peer who I hope continues to de-bunk the theories we've been fed on.

I bought this from amazon on the strength of so many good reviews, but did not find it to be so 'life-changing' as many people here seem to have found it.
I found the encouragement and hypnosis parts to be good , and can see how these are both useful and helpful. However, throughout the book you are told this is not a diet, only to find that 3/4 of the way through the author is asking you to give up both wheat and dairy, which is referred to as glue and mucus. If restricting not one but two food groups is not a diet, then I am not sure what is!
This book was not for me.

Hi! I feel I need to rave about Marisa Peer's book as I have a whole bookcase of self-help, no-diet-lose-weight books, and not one of them has addressed my difficult relation with food as directly and individually as You Can Be Thin.

It has taken a weight off my shoulders to know that I am not a failure and that I have every right to consider myself as a good, successful and positive person; and even better, I believe it! Marisa Peer's way of explaining what is and isn't is remarkable - concise, personal, revealing; and the insights she offers blow away all the negative rubbish I have been coating myself with for many, many years.

I feel for the first time since I was 12 that I can live a normal, happy and fruitful life, and I urge anyone who even slightly doubt themselves through body image or food control issues to read her book. Oh, and by the way, I haven't even finished the book yet, but my comments are from the heart and written with a conviction I only ever dreamed I could have about my future.

Irrespective of the content of the book, the extremely peculiar accent and style of speaking adopted by Ms Peer on the cd accompanying the book, is enough to drive the listener up the wall rather than go into an hypnotic trance. I've tried to listen a couple of times but her voice and pseudo accent just grates beyond belief.



Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - It's so easy - why didn't I think of it !!!
I have just attended one of Marisa's seminars which was absolutely brilliant. She is so motivating and says it all in a no nonsense style, just like in her book which I was given free at the seminar - along with her hypnosis CD.

I took her advice and after just three days I have lost 3.5 lbs. I feel motivated to continue eating in the way she suggests along with replacing wheat and dairy with other alternatives. I listen to her CD - which comes free with the book - every night and can feel myself changing my habits every day.

I would thoroughly recommend this book - and Marisa's seminars - to anyone wishing to change there eating habits for good and never have a weight problem again. It's so simple and makes so much sense - I wish I had thought of it years ago!!!
