Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - try reading this .....
the secret really is an updated polished version of the work of wallace d. wattles book the science of getting rich, this book was given to the author of the secret.

take out of it what you want, anything about thinking positive and the law of attraction can only be good ,try another book the game of life and how to play it .. you need to believe in the laws of attraction and the thought process .i haven't read the secret because i have the science of getting rich... great positive books and yes they do help

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - A mish-mash of quotes
I agree with the review "The Wisdom of Homer - Simpson, that is!!", as that all what it is - random quotes and lots of smiling faces. Am I only one, along with the other 31 one star reviews, to see the king is actually naked? I too bought the book, and now it is displayed in my local Oxfam shop after I donated it to them. Hopefully it will make them rich. I fought my way through Barbel Mohr's book, God forgive, and I wrestled my way through this one in search of The Secret ... what secret? I definitely rank this book alongside the awfully written book by Esther and Jerry Hicks' book "Ask and It Is Given: Learning to Manifest Your Desires". I am sorry if all what I am giving are negative reviews, but I do seek help in gaining a life of wealth and none of these books are doing it for me.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Is it just coincidence?
My best friend bought me this book for Christmas and it was the best present I was given. I have read and re-read and read again and I just keep on reading it. There were so many instances that I could think of that related to the secret, that I just knew it to be true. Now, I'm not a fruitloop and I'm not materialistic (according to many reviews), I'm just a normal person that really believes your thoughts create your life. If your a cynic, you'll probably always remain a cynic and quote this book as rubbish, likewise if you're a miserable person, you'll also find an excuse to rubbish this book. Stay a cynic and a miserable person and what chance do you have of ever finding true happiness in any part of your life!!

The point is, you are more likely to have a happy and fulfilling life if you have a positive mental attitude. This book certainly creates positivity, it makes you appreciative and grateful for what you have and gives you a sense of belief in who are. You can have what you want, you've just got to believe it.

I loved the book and have already seen a difference in my life by believing in the law of attraction. Like attracts like, thoughts become things........a word of warning to those non believers...be careful what you dream for, it might just come true!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - The Wisdom of Homer - Simpson, that is!!
I'm relieved to see so many bad reviews of this piece of nonsense - proving you really can't fool all of the people any of the time. The marketing strategy is so transparent, package the piece of trivia in a cover so obviously inspired by The DaVinci Code, lace the preface with references to "ancient books of secrets" and throw in the names of long-dead geniuses (who are not likely to sue) for credibility and you have - not a book of wisdom, but a book that will appeal to the suicidal browser in need of rescue. But it falls apart under the gaze of even the least discriminating browser - the "ancient" tome which started Ms Byrne on her "quest" is barely a hundred years old. My grandfather was writing Christmas cracker jokes at that time, hardly in the timeline of the Vedas, Bible or any legitimate writings of the sages. Anyway, if this un-named 100-year-old "ancient" volume is so wonderful and inspiring, why can't she name it? Better still, re-issue it in a Dan Brown-style cover and we can all buy it! And who said Beethoven, Moses, Louis Armstrong and the other famous deadies knew "The Secret"? All we have are random quotes completely out of context, with no mention of a particular secret. Then there is the list of Ms Byrne's "teachers", complete with photos showing the biggest array of teeth since The Osmonds smiled and destroyed Hiroshima. All of her mentors are American motivation "gurus" - and if that doesn't stop you in your tracks, nothing will. One of the "essential laws" of The Secret's philosophy is to, wait for it, Do The Thing You Love! At worst this gives carte blanche to paedophiles, rapists, murderers and Robbie Williams fans. At best it promises that if we want it we can have it - so all who want to be Queen of England, you can have it if you buy Ms Byrne's book, she promises...! Now the book I'd rather read is the one which - instead of advising "do the thing you love" - suggest we "love the thing we do", but that's not going to make a fortune for the likes of Ms Byrne and her grinning gurus. P.S. I tried to give it MINUS stars, but Amazon in their wisdom only allow a one to five rating, so everyone's a winner. Rhonda and her playmates would like that!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Secret is what you make it
Many have slagged off The Secret and that's fine, but for me, if some people out there can take something from it (be it motivation or a better clarity of purpose about what they really want in life) then I think that has to be a good thing.

The Secret, of course, is the Law of Attraction and it's no secret - indeed, many successful people throughout the ages knew this but the strength of this book and the accompanying DVD is that the message is packaged into readable and digestible products.

You could spend your life reading up on self-help products, but the tricky part is actually being able to apply it.

If you're intrigued by this then you might want to also read Napoleon Hill's classic 'Think and Grow Rich' and Bob Doyle's more recent 'Wealth Beyond Reason'.

Postive thinking...? Well, for me, no matter what the critics may say, that has to be a positive thing.
