Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Amazing in every way
It really amazes me how people are so willing to blame their own personal failings on someone else who is successful at what they do.

This book is a no nonsense, take it or leave it approach by someone who not only practises what he preaches, but has lived it and turned his life around in a way most of us only dream about, as are all his other books and dvds/cds etc.

I know it works and you gain nothing other than health, vitality and mental clarity. If only people would open their minds!

Good on you Jason!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Brilliant!
I have always found the worst thing for my weight is working long hours as I never felt I had time to eat properly and was brainwashed into thinking I needed processed carbs to have energy. Now I have juices and instead of filling me with dread I look forward to them - I can prepare them in advance and I have so much energy. It really makes you stop wanting to eat rubbish foods. This book totally changed my mindset to food.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Not for the faint hearted!!
I followed Jason Vale's 7-day juice diet a couple of weeks back, having put on about 10lbs over several months. I was delighted to lose 5lbs in 7 days - and it has STAYED off. Initially I found the regime very difficult - the 'detox' symptoms on day 2 (as he predicts) were the pits (but I believe not everybody has the same experience). I found that after the first 3 days or so I genuinely only felt I needed 3 drinks (you can have up to 5). In retrospect I think this regime would be better followed in the warmer months. I followed it during cold weather (November) and while I was never actually hungry, I did spend a lot of time feeling cold and lethargic for the first few days. The only real criticism I'd make is that he advocates 1.5 hours of exercise per day (30 mins morning, mid-day and evening)... which I think is too much for anybody (what about rest days?) let alone someone existing on juices. I managed to fit in about 30 minutes most days. Since finishing the 7 days, I did not then buy the 'Turbo Charge Your Life in 14 Days' plan as he suggests, but I HAVE been making juice for breakfast most days and sometimes for lunch, then having a healthy meal in the evening. I have lost about 5 more pounds as a result. The juices are tasty (once you get used to the ones that contain spirulina and wheatgrass) and surprisingly filling, especially the ones where you whizz an avocado or banana with the juice. But I found that not all of them last well in a flask as he suggests. However his JM Superjuice does tend to keep well if one makes double quantity at breakfast and puts the rest in a flask for lunchtime. Generally speaking I did feel fairly healthy on this plan because of the sheer number of fruits/vegetables and hence vitamins that I was taking in. This is not an easy option, but I found it a good way to kick start my weight loss.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Fantastic
I've tried them all. This is the best detox out there - it is actually possible to stick to, for a start, though I too, as did other reviewers , did it in a week off work - it is very time consuming, and this would be where it'd be easy to fall off, if you didn't have the time. In addition, the juices are yummy - I skipped the horrible one - and you KNOW it's good for you. I did it over a month ago and I still have a juice for breakfast. I can't see how you could go back to eating rubbish after doing this. I didn't weigh myself, and I don't believe anything you do for 7 days can be claimed to do anything of substance for your weight - but as a detox and an ingraining of healthy habits, it is Fabulous!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - It works but time consuming
I am in day 5 of this plan at the moment and have to say that I've lost 6 lbs so far...

The begining of the book is full of useless information, I just looked through the pages very quickly. The important part is on the second part of the book which is where the diet plan is.

I would only recommend that you read the first part if you need the psychological motivation to do the plan as it is hard work but if you are determined to loose weight, there's no need although its easy reading.

The actual diet is well planned and good from a nutritious point of view. Most juices taste good, one in particular is delicious but you only get to drink it a few times and there is one which is absolutely revolting but you only have to drink it once.

I never feel hungry with this plan, as opposed to what I initially thought.

You also end up spending a bit of cash on all the nutritional supplements that you need and the juicer although I found one of the 'masticating' ones that he recommends on Ebay for just £135 and it's something you get to keep and can use in the future. The cheapest supplements I found were on the Author's website and you get a next day delivery.

The juices take a long time to prepare and you have to have 5 everyday so if you work away from home it requires a lot of preparation and planning.
