| Baroque may be marketed as an action RPG, but it's heart is that of a roguelike. Roguelikes are a genre based on certain conventions, such an emphasis on replayability with randomized dungeons and items, deep and detailed game mechanics, and unrelenting difficulty with severe penalties for death. Tradtionally, rogulikes also have the simplest of stories and visuals. Baroque luckily exceeds the standard here, with a genuinely twisted story and exceedingly atmospheric graphics.

| The game is great for a Disgaea, the learning curve is not nearly as hard as most people would think, the graphics are a bit outdated but I love that its so retro... the only problem I have is the main characters voice actor.. very annoying.. and I am not one to make all the dialogue in japanese just to avoid hearing him... but other than that.. its pretty darn good. |

| The game is great for a Disgaea, the learning curve is not nearly as hard as most people would think, the graphics are a bit outdated but I love that its so retro... the only problem I have is the main characters voice actor.. very annoying.. and I am not one to make all the dialogue in japanese just to avoid hearing him... but other than that.. its pretty darn good. |

| The game was alright. It was an excellent story line, I just wish it had been a lot longer, and much more interactive. The game seemed to be just killing enemies from point A to point B and that's all you could do, you couldn't really manipulate the outcome, or choose very many different events to follow. The graphics are phenomenal, but that only makes up part of a great game. My number one dislike of this game, to be certain, is the short length. (I beat it in two days) |
