VHS : Tae-Bo Gold
After having my first child and being on continuous bedrest during my pregnancy I had went from 130lbs to 180lbs by the time I had delivered and my 6 weeks of recovering were over. To get myself back in shape, I purchased this workout. Mostly though, because all that "bing, bong, beep beep, bang" music they play in the background drives me nuts in the other Tae-Bo workouts and the music in this workout is more tolerable.

Anywho, that's not really the point of the Gold workout ... Read More:

VHS : America: a Tribute to Heroes
It's been over two years now since September 11, 2001, and perhaps there is need for a retrospective look at this unique DVD.

I only caught part of the original airing of "Tribute to Heroes" on TV.

Watching the whole thing for the first time on DVD was a moving experience, except when Enrique Iglesias showed up - I couldn't help but wonder whether he was wearing false eyelashes and whether they would fall off.

I was saddened to see the Dixie Chicks on this ... Read More:

VHS : Rudolph's Shiny New Year
I remember liking this movie as a child, so I must believe that it is still a good children's movie. However, this is definitely a "B" list movie from Rankin-Bass, and doesn't have the charm, music, or cohesion of their "A" list movies--"Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer," "The Year Without a Santa Claus," and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town." Adults will be disappointed with this movie, because it seems stilted and thrown together. Rudolph is asked by Father Time to find Happy, the baby new year, who has run away ... Read More:

VHS : Tarantula
Tarantula is a highlight of the continuous stream of monster B movies produced in the 50s and 60s. This is the story of a lifelong scientist (Leo Carroll), who is attempting to produce technology for the world to benefit from. When he is attacked one night by one of his former partners, a mutated tarantula is set loose in an Arizona town. The town medical doctor (John Agar), realizes that life is at stake, and must find a way to destroy this creature before it is too late. The formula used to mutate the arachnid has produced ... VHS : Pilates Intermediate Mat Workout
I took a introductory pilates 10-week course but it was expensive. So due to money and time constraints, I switched to this video after. The transition from live instructor to Ana was easy!! I recommend this video to anyone with basic pilates knowledge who is ready to move on to more of a challenge. Due to the abdominal intensity of some of the moves (especially the lower abs!) it probably isn't the best for someone new to pilates.

This is one of my favourite videos. The instruction is clear and flows nicely from start ... Read More:

I like this tape for opening up hips and stretching. You can feel the pain in days after of good run. I only gave the tape 4 stars because it's not really satisfying enough for a complete hour yoga workout. While for daily 20-min stretching, I find that the third tape in Rodney Yee's Power Yoga for Beginners: Flexibility has much of the same stretching goodness in a smaller package, so I can also have time for other workouts.

VHS : The Crowd
"The Crowd" is quite simply one of the most powerful and moving films ever made. I have had the pleasure of watching it many times over the years, both alone and as part of a "crowd", and its impact has always been the same: leaving me and the rest of the audience breathless with emotion. Directed and co-written by the wonderful King Vidor (surely one of the greatest talents ever to work in the Hollywood system) and featuring extraordinary cinematography from Henry Sharp that still startles 80 years after the fact, "The Crowd" is one ... VHS : In the Beginning
I recommend this movie to anyone who desires to know more about the events that occurred in the Old Testament, this is a close as you'll get to the actually truth. I bought the VHS and was so pleased with the characters, costumes, location and scenes that I loaned the movie to friends and other family members. Well, somewhere along lending it out someone liked it so much never returned it to me. So, I purchased another one. I also own the Ten Commandments and it is a good movie as well, however, if you know the Bible, you will also know that Mose had no romantic relationship ... Read More:
