| Chimps are featured, but only to keep us from defensively noticing that the movie is really talking about our deepest experience as humans-- the transition from mute wonderment, through learning and loss, into competence and self-reliance. The story seems to meander as Matthew Broderick replaces Helen Hunt as the main human character, but by the end you can tell that the script was written with the greatest of care and skill. |

| .... It features several women hopping around, kicking their toes and lunging. A roving camera switches around and makes what little instruction provided even harder to follow. The instructor calls out the dance moves quickly, and just when you think they are impossible to follow, she speeds up. There is no instruction to suggest if you are doing the so-called exercises properly or are begging for an injury. It's a very irresponsible tape in that respect. | i think it's far too easy to get hung up on whether or not a film was "faithful" to the book it was based on. admittedly, many fans may end up disappointed that certain elements they expected were absent or changed, but the fact that film and the written text are such different media requires that, often, a novel will necessarily have to undergo alterations in order to work in the filmic medium. and that's ok, so long as we recognise that the film, whatever adaptation of whatever book it may be - in this case, ... | First of all, I bought this DVD at Best Buy for $5.99 so that shows right there that it was not a huge hit with audiences. I thought that price was a steal. Yeah maybe there is nothing special about this DVD and it is just basic and the quality is not that great, but just having the ability to watch it in my DVD player is a much better alternative than VHS. I love the characters and how the develop them. Teri Polo has been one of my favorites in Hollywood since I saw her in this movie back when it came out back ... Read More: |

| Great movie, concur with the other comments, but what moron decided to cut the beautiful love scene between Depardieu and Baye from the DVD (the one just before he gets arrested the 2nd time). The perpetrator should be flayed and hanged and everybody who bought the DVD should be provided with a free replacement that includes this scene to compensate for the emotional anguish at seeing this jewel damaged by an incompetent, hypocritical editor. |

| Due to the other ratings (five stars), i bought this video, thinking it would be a good workout. It is lazy. I am not obsessed about calorie burning nor building up muscle, but i do like to work it out and challenge the different parts of the body with motion. This video does not have you lifting your legs up, to the sides and back, it gives few reps of each and it is seriously no pain and no gain. The ladies on it clearly worried more about their eighties big hairs and less about exercising for reals!! Don't buy it if you have the habit of exercising ... Read More: |
