| Every year on thanksgiving after we've had our turkey dinner and cleaned up the kitchen, my family and I sit down and watch White Christmas together. This is a tradition we have had for as long as i can remember. I have seen this movie many many times over the years. I usually watch it at least 2-3 times during the christmas season. | I feel tricked and used. After waiting decades to enjoy this film the way I saw it in the movie theater as a child, what does Disney do? They glibly release the DVD in fullscreen format, even going so far as to list one of the "Special Features" on the jacket as "Fullscreen (1.33:1)". | The Godfather l,ll,and lll are some of the greatest movies of all time. True classics. Pacino is hardcore, De Niro is just great in any movie, Robert Duval is wonderful, and John Cazale is such an under-rated actor. There is nothing bad at all about these movies, and the fact that Al Pacino, and Robert De Niro are in this movie makes it all the better. | It is possible that some viewers may find this classic late 60's sci-fi not up to the standard of Ray Bradbury's creative style. But since childhood, I have always enjoyed this movie. Rod Steiger (one of my favorite actors) is unique and believable in his role as the "illustrated man", and Claire Bloom is beautiful as always. The movie gets a bit slow in parts but somehow with the musical score is mysterious and entertaining. If you enjoyed 451 I think you will be pleased with this captivating film. |
