I have been trying unsuccessfully for the past 6 hours after installing Leopard to get my printer to work. This new operating system does not recognize my driver and after several uninstall install attempts I still cannot print.

The most infuriating thing is the damable alert that keeps telling me to install the printer - after I have been told the printer software has been successfully installed!!

Now here's the punchline: The only reason for this purchase was to use boot camp to clean up a problem that developed from corrupt windows files. Since the beta version had expired I had no way of reformating the hard drive and reconfiguring a windows partition. But because the printer won't print, I cannot print the instructions telling me how to do this ( a recommended procedure). So I've tried without them and, yes, without success!

If you are happy with Tiger, stay put. As noted by another reviewer there are several bugs in this os and you could be opening yourself up for many frustrating hours of trying to reconfigure some of your settings. Another thing it did was to change some of my email settings and I'm having considerable difficulty getting that mess sorted out, too.

Having used windows for many years before switching to mac last year, this is deja vu. I feel like I'm back on a windows platform - another irony since I can't get boot camp to finalize the windows xp install - then only reason for getting Leopard . . .

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - need to work the bugs out
its funny that the latest Apple ads poke fun at Windows users who are "downgrading" to XP. I recently purchased Leopard and there are days when I wish I could downgrade to Tiger. There are some serious bugs with Leopard and I would discourage Tiger users from upgrading for a while until Apple has worked them out. The most serious problem involves connecting to wireless networks. Whenever you wake your machine from sleep mode, it is automatically disconnected from your wireless network. And re-connecting doesn't work for several minutes. Its seriously frustrating and the discussion forums at Apple are buzzing with people suffering from this problem. I use a WEP password to access my network, when I wake my machine and see that I have lost my connection, I try to reconnect by selecting my network and entering my password but I get the message "see administrator" again and again. After a few minutes of this, finally it reconnects.

This problem never happened with Tiger so it has to be a bug with Leopard.

As I said, wait a while for Apple to fix the problems, then give it a try if you must.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Why the Price Differential?
Hi, I like this APPLE product so I will probably order it.

Just wondering why the price at Amazon.CA in Canada is $119.00 in Canadian dollars (reduced from list of $129.00 Canadian)?

The price at Amazon.COM in the U.S. is $109.00 in U.S. dollars (reduced from listed U.S. dollar price of $129.00) at this time (Nov. 8, 2007 at about 6 PM EST).

Using exchange rate of $1 U.S. equals $0.91 Canadian, the U.S. listed price at Amazon.COM is only $99.19 in Canadian funds equivalent.

I realize that the Canadian currency has markedly increased in value very quickly in recent days, and maybe Amazon has not had a chance to readjust its listed prices.

So I calculate that I can save $119.00 minus 99.19 = $19.81 Canadian if I order from the U.S. website.

Am I wrong? I believe both sites offer free shipping.

Thanks, Sudo
