I first got this book when I was experiencing major anxiety. I was excited about getting this book because from what I had read about it, it seemed like a really great book. And IT WAS! There are many different techniques you can use when are you having an axiety attack. As well, there are other techniques that, if you work on them consistently (everyday), you will be living a better life. What helped me the most was the progressive muscle relaxation. It was great for when I was going to bed. Instead of worrying the night away, I would listen to the tape I made and fall asleep.

I highly recommend this book!

This practical book is one of the best self help books for anxiety that I have seen. The breathing techniques, although simple provided immediate relief for anxious feelings. The advice about how to achieve deep relaxation has been life changing for me. If you are committed to your own recovery from anxiety, I believe there are many tools and helpful techniques provided to you in this workbook. It is a great starting point for any person dealing with anxiety and provides information to obtain more resources. As a physician, I have recommended this book to many of my patients suffering from anxiety. It is excellent.

After suffering with anxiety for two months I picked up this book and it has changed my life! I finally realize so many things about myself and how to treat years of abusing myself emotionally. This is by far the best book for anxiety I have came across - and I love how it suggests other books to read - I have just bought a couple more for more specific ideas.
If you are plagued by anxiety and panic attacks like I am it's a must to read!

This workbook is filled with the kind of information and self help activities that help to put people back in control of their lives. Anxiety disorder has so many underlying causes and is treated in such a wide variety of ways that it is most useful to go through many of these exercises to help understand what may be at the heart of our own difficulties. In my own case the chapters on mistaken beliefs, self talk, self esteem, and relaxation and meditation have made all the difference in the world. In fact, this is the book my therapist suggested and we worked through it together. In a matter of 5 weeks, I was able to end all panic attacks, get off all medication, and am now working at permanently changing what brought about the anxiety in the first place. Yes, my therapist was awesome, but I also have to give credit to this workbook, along with 'Don't Panic' from Reid Wilson, and all the books and tapes from Dr. Claire Weekes. Knowledge is power in life; knowledge is also empowerment in the case of anxiety.
