Rating: - How the hell is he still alive?
What a trip! Ever wanted to enter the mind of an addict or in this case a famous addict. I use to listen to Motley Crue as a kid and this book honestly fascinates me. You'll read first hand the trials and tribulations Nikki went through in the 80's as part of one of the most successful bands of our time. It may not be for everyone as this is not a novel but a diary of Nikki written when he was in a very dark place in his life. Excellent insight into the live of a Rock Star with great commentary from Tommy Lee, Vince and Mick on the state of Nikki and the band during these time.
What an ingenious idea to release this book along with one of the most fantastic music albums I have heard in years.

Rating: - Give me my four days back
Simply put, take a pass on this book. After you read the first chapter, you've read them all. Basically the book goes like this. Nikki Sixx does some coke. Nikki Six does some more coke. Nikki Sixx does come heroin. Nikki Sixx overdoses. Nikki Six tried to kick the habit. Nikki Sixx fails.

Next chapter, same thing. And the chapter after that, same thing again. And again. And again.

The book provide no insight in to the band and no insight in to the whole rock and role business. What really kills me is how Nikki Sixx seems to think that his band is responsible for Guns 'n Roses being as successful a they are. Whatever.

So what is good about the book? The diagrams that accompany the book are good. And the whole way the book is setup is quite neat. But the rest of it. Complete waste of time. On the plus side, it was a very fast read. Four days. Tops.

Rating: - Page Turner
Nikki Sixx's The Herion Diaries was the 1st book i've ever read where i actually had to force myself to stop reading it so i wouldn't miss my bus to work! It's such a page turner! The best part is that it doesn't get repetitive. I usually lend my books to my other friends but not this one, it's a buyer!

Rating: - Good Book
I decided to read this book because I am a huge fan of The Dirt. This book lets you look through the eyes of an extreme addict. It shows how quikly a life of fame can become a dark and lonely place. I recommend this book to any one who is a fan of Motley Crue and Nikki Sixx.

Rating: - Tragically Fascinating
This book was a great read, very disturbing, but equally appealling I still can't stop thinking about it, well worth the read. I couldn't put it down and read it in one day
