Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Loved every second of it!
I'm surprised that this book recieved so many bad reviews; I absolutely loved it! I thought it was an easy, well written book that was highly addictive. I thought the plot line was fantastic and was very pleased with the ending.

What is wrong with a happily ever after ending? I think it's very refreshing. Twilight will always be my favorite, but Breaking Dawn is my second favorite.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Lighten up people
So, I finished ''Breaking Dawn'' last Sunday (I read the French version though). I was affraid of the ending because I had heard that so many fans we're dissapointed by it...but I found myself smilling when I read the final pages and I also felt a little sad knowing that I wasn't going to read about the characters of the ''Twilight'' series anymore...

I read a couple of reviews on amazon and I'm amazed by how seriously some people take this story...IT'S A BOOK, IT'S FICTION, it was never meant to be realistic in the first place...it's about vampires for crying out loud.

CAREFUL-SPOILERS FOLLOW

I don't know about the rest of the readers, but I don't remember reading anywhere in the other books that vampires couldn't produce any living thing. They cannot reproduce between one another, but it makes sense that they could reproduce between humans...I think... Still, I wasn't all too happy about Bella having a baby, it was kinda of a ''given'', being that her realtionship with Edward follows all the stages of a perfect romance being:

Meeting-falling in love- getting married- having babies.

Also, from the beginning, I didn't want Bella to become a vampire. I'm 26, not a teenager, but I identifed myself to Bella in the first book because as a teen, I was kinda like her, and I would have never given up my mortality for a guy...immortality just doesn't interest me....I was happy because at some point, Bella seemed to go back on her idea of becoming a vamp...but with the turn of events, there really wasn't any other solution...

I find it funny how people say that the characters contradict themselves in this book...I read it and didn't feel that way at all. I can't really explain it, but I just felt like they stayed true, and yes, they evolved a little but a book where the characters don't progress is boring right?

I was dissapointed by the final chapters...I wanted a fight, I wanted some all out vampire carnage...I didn't get it...Instead, I got a long kinda meaningless conversation between two vampire clans and really cheesy speach by a nomdad vampire...oh well..

Bottom line, you love Twilight or you hate it (and I am surprised by HOW much some people hate it...) My favorite book will forever be the first one because I loved the dynamic between Edward and Bella and I will re-read the first volume again one day...the others...maybe not so much.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awesome end to an awesome series!
I was shocked to see how so many people did not like this novel - I thought it was a very well written end to the series! To the peoplewho say it wasn't realistic - you do realize you are reading a book featuring vampires and werewolves, right?

*SPOILERS*
The fact that Bella had a baby was an unexpected turn of events, but it wasn't bad - far from it, it added an interesting element to the story. It is something the character do not anticipate, and neither did this reader. The developments with Jacob and the pack added another element of conflict to the mix, and Jacob imprinting on Renesmee was a very neat twist, in my opinion.

I do agree, Bella did seem to have that "Mary Sue" type image, and I would have liked to see a little more conflict and turmoil with her transformation to vampire, but that is a minor criticism.

It would make a little sense that reactions to this novel are more negative, considering the major demographic of readers consists of teenaged girls, many of whom cannot relate to Bella's experiences with being a mother. However, I thought it was a beautiful thing for Bella to love her child so much.

Finally, the fact that in the end Bella gets all she wants is one thing that many people have a beef with. Is it unrealistic that Bella has to sacrifice little if anything by the end of the book? Absolutely. Is that a bad thing? NO! I was perfectly pleased with the ending- I read novels as a form of entertainment, and I loved that this had a happy ending. I do not read books to get more of reality - no need to read a book to get that! In the end I was left feeling good, not depressed and crappy, so ultimately this book (and this series) was a success.

In short, I would highly recommend this book. My only regret after finishing it was that there were not any further books to look forward to! I will be following Stephanie Meyer in the future though - what a great author!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The best of the series
Simply put, this is the best of Meyer's Twilight Series. I really like the first two books, but I found Eclipse and Breaking Dawn showed characters more in depth. Many criticize Meyer's in other reviews written here, saying she is a "prude" and "old-fashioned" based on the Edward's wish to be married, etc., but they fail to realize, Edward Cullen's character is "old fashion" because of the era in which he was born. The book is captivating and for those who felt the first and second books' storylines dragged a little near the middle, stick it out to the end and finish this series. I highly recommend this book.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - What a Shame...
I hadn't picked up the series until just before the movie came out, so I'd heard about the incredibly polarized reviews for this book. The whole "You either love it or hate it." Well, I really disliked it.

So, they're married. Fine. She's pregnant. Fine, if a bit too soon in the plot for my tastes. And I was actually hoping she would pull through the birth and stay human, thus making it easier to love her, character flaws and all. However, once Bella becomes a vampire, she's impossible to relate to. She can do no wrong, she's the perfect weapon, etc, etc. There's a name for this perfection, and it's called "Mary Sue". How can anyone feel a connection to a character like that? I often felt as though I was reading fanfiction.

The whole plot with Jacob after the baby is born is what ultimately put me off of "Breaking Dawn". Wow, he gets what he wants, along with everyone else. Yet, the rest of the books are an angst-ridden journey in the life of a teenage girl in love. No one has to suffer by the end of *this* book, which would work if that's what happened on a regular basis in the "Twilight" saga.

Overall, I'm extremely disappointed with the way Meyer ended the saga. I think she was in such a hurry that the plot ended up suffering, along with many of her fans.
