Rating: - Definately worth the read.
Well, just like many reviews before, this is definately not a how to pick girls up book. It does mention other books in there that are also good reading material on the subject. Like Robert Greene's Art of Seduction and Introduction to NLP.

Right from the beginning, I was hooked and could not put it down. The interesting stories and encounters he had along the way, right up to the very end when he finally discovers what he was looking.

And oddly enough, 'The Wizard of Oz' actually made more sense to me, go figure, lol.

Rating: - Compelling tale - couldn't put it down
Neil Strauss, who co-authored bestsellers about Motley Crue and Jenna Jameson, nails it again with another great tale into the bizarre worlds most of us never visit. This isn't so much a how to pick up women guide. It's a captivating story line as he ventures into the seduction community and grows his skills and insight into his own existence. Truly fascinating. Much of the material the average guy cannot relate to, or will ever experience, but as a page turner it is truly masterful.

I would couple this book with one recommended above by Amazon, The Professional Bachelor Dating Guide - How to Exploit Her Inner Psycho. As you read them, you realize the techniques they teach parallel how to "win friends and influence people", along with how to seduce the babes. The skills dissect and perfect being charismatic and comfortable in new situations with strangers. Get both books, they will accelerate your self-confidence to a very high level; for me it's been life changing.

Rating: - Great story, fascinating characters
I found this one in a Borders book store, and read it for over an hour. You simply can't help but be fascinated by the characters and the story line. Neil has a way of drawing you into the story immediately, and you'll definitely read this in a day. It also dances along that fine line of having you wonder if it's all true or seriously exaggerated. Just 5 minutes of research on Google will show you it is real.

Great story about an underground society of strange dudes who are seriously successful lady killers. Highly recommended.

Rating: - How to be shallow and manipulate people...
I can't even begin to describe the serious flaws in this book... I'm too lazy to make a detailed critique...

But I gave it one star instead of zero because, if you want to study logic and how to detect subtly and not so subtly flawed arguments, buy this book.

There are serious flaws in their methodology [ie, apparently their tricks work for all kinds of girls, as long as you only hit on traditionally-cute looking barflies... And manipulative techniques are emphasized as the determining factor, yet their workshops also teach teach non-manipulative self-improvement techniques which may also have been a determining factor], and this book should have been renamed The Mysogynist's Training Manual, because they basically teach how to manipulate women into sleeping with them
(Also, it's hard not to get affected at least temporarily by their messed up views of women)

I sold this book a long time ago, but should have burned it instead.

Rating: - Loads of good insight.
"THe Game", while not technically a "picking up" guide, does give the reader loads of insight. You might just have to search a little to get the insights, but overall, this is a very interesting read and something to talk about over cocktails. I also liked "Understanding Women"--Romy Miller as well as "Chicks"--Dag Albright.
